It seems like every post I have on this journal is explaining why I'm never posting on this journal... Lol. For those who don't know I'm a senior in college majoring in theatre. Acting is pretty much my entire life but this semester that has taken on a whole new meaning. I spent two months last fall preparing for auditions for Hamlet because our director said that he would consider casting a woman in the title role if she could prove that she could do it. I was the only girl who tried for it along with 12 other men and by some crazy miracle I got it. Thus begins the scariest, most challenging, most exhilarating and exhausting 4 months of my life. Between rehearsals, private coaching, sword training, style training, voice training , and just learning all the damn lines I've just had no time for anything else except occaisionally to sleep. With all the Hamlet stuff I have in my brain it's just impossible for me to focus on my fanfics or on my vids. But we open April 3rd and then my graduation is only a month after that so hopefully I'll be able to get back in the grove. Those who have been reading my stories please don't give up on them! They will be finished! Love you all!

    <lj:music>I wish I had some</lj:music>

Ok it has been weeks since I've been on here and I've missed it! Fall semester started up about a month ago as well as rehearsals for the fall production and I've had no time for anything else. In case anyone is interested we're doing "Vinegar Tom" as a mix of "The Crucible" and "Chicago". It's very, very, cool though I have to say that dancing in an actual corset hurts like you would not believe! I have a few new videos that I'll be uploading soon, once I've tweaked them a little bit more. I've also started working again on my sequel to Wobbly-Legged Rum-Swilling Pirates. Hopefully I'll be able to start posting those soon. That's all for now. I must get back to Philosophy homework.

    <lj:music>Aida soundtrack</lj:music>

Hello all! I am giddy to present my very first fanvid. The genre is POTC and if you haven't seen the second movie yet then beware of spoilers!

The song I used is called Easy as Life from the Broadway show Aida. If you aren't familiar with the song I'd suggest reading over the lyrics as the girl is a little hard to understand in a few places.

EASY AS LIFE

This is the moment when the gods expect me
To beg for help but I won't even try
I want nothing in this world but myself to protect me
But I won't lie down, roll over and die
All I have to do is to forget how much I love him
All I have to do is put my longing to one side
Tell myself that love's an ever-changing situation
Passion would have cooled and all the magic would have died
It's easy, it's easy

All I have to do is to pretend I never knew him
On those very rare occasions when he steals into my heart
Better to have lost him when the ties were barely binding
Better the contempt of the familiar cannot start
It's easy, It's easy

Until I think about him as he was when I last touched him
And how he would have been were I to be with him today
Those very rare occasions don't let up they keep on coming
All I ever wanted and I'm throwing it away
It's easy, it's easy as life

But then I see the faces of a worn , defeated people
A father and a nation who won't let a coward run
is this how the gods reward the faithful through the ages ?
Forcing us to prove the hardest things we've done
Are easy
So easy

And though I'll think about him 'til the earth draws in around me
And though I choose to leave him for another kind of love
This is no denial, no betrayal but redemption
Redeemed in my own eyes and in the pantheon above
It's easy
It's easy as life
It's easy as life
It's easy as life

If you want to simply view the vid you can do so here http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2768984

If you want to download it go here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JANMOF3Z

<lj:music>sniffles and the ringing in my ears</lj:music>

Ok. I'm 20-years-old. I still live with my parents (with sort of good reason- they live three blocks from my college and it's just easier to stay with them than fork over the extra couple thousand dollars). This past summer Dad and I bought a house using the money that was supposed to be for school (scholarships ended up covering everything so it freed up the money). The plan was to buy a fixer-upper for cheap and fix it up ourselves since Dad is an electrician and used to build houses when he was younger. Well we definitely bought a fixer-upper. I love my house...it's got potential...but DAMN it's also got a helluva lot of shit wrong with it. Our goal was to have the place liveable by the time school started (August 23rd)...it didn't work out. Hell we aren't even close. As much as I love spending time with my dad and working on the house...I've got to move the hell out! 20-year-olds just shouldn't live with their parents...people get hurt! The new goal is by Thanksgiving and I'm crossing everything I got hoping that we make it!

Quote of the Day: "I wish I was a guy so I could fuck me."- me talking to one of my friends, Katie. We were dressed up to go to our friend 21st birthday shindig and in a very silly mood.

Movie Rec of the Week: "Man in the Moon"- for those of you that are confused I don't mean the Jim Carey movie that came out a few years ago. I mean Reese Witherspoon's first movie. It's one of my favorite movies of all times and makes me sob my eyes out everytime I watch it! Beautiful film. Definitely watch it if you haven't already!

<lj:music>a wonderful soundtrack of clinkin glasses & drunken laughter</lj:music>

I have officially decided that Jeff Dunham is effin hysterical. It is the night before fall semester starts and I'm watching Jeff's "Arguing With Myself" with three of my friends and a bottle of Hypnotic. If you've never seen Jeff before, he's a ventriloquist (which I know sounds really not funny but I swear it is). Anyway that's my randomness for tonight.

Quote of the Day: "I ain't got no qualms!"- by my best friend, Anna, in the KFC drive-thru

Movie Rec of the Week: Dangerous Beauty (I watched it a few nights ago for the first time and now I just can't stop watching it.)

Book Rec of the Month- Burning Road by Ann Benson
